The addition of Georgia Youngs has helped revitalize the Arts Programming at the Dunbar Community Centre. Georgia’s talent, passion and patience has helped many a “new” artist gain more confidence and guide the “seasoned” artist on their journey. Many happy, repeat students!

I had never held a paintbrush in my hand before I enrolled in one of Georgia’s acrylic classes at the community centre about 2 years ago. To be honest, I signed up for a series of classes expecting to confirm my suspicion that I had no talent whatsoever and that the classes would be a painful demonstration of that fact. To my complete surprise, Georgia made that first series of classes a remarkable adventure for me. I learned to be patient with myself and I actually enjoyed painting! I have signed up for a number of series of classes with Georgia since that tentative first set – and I continue to enjoy my time with Georgia and the other painters.

Georgia is an amazing instructor. She is incredibly talented and patient, and she instils confidence and a sense of adventure in all of her students. It is a real pleasure to attend her classes and I will continue to do so as long as Georgia is teaching them!
